A few months ago we raised a few
eyebrows on this website when we published our list of the most inspirational
quotations of Donald Trump resulting in several people writing to ask if we had any
political affiliations. We would like to make it very clear that The
Customer Service Blog is completely independent and non-political. We support
no political parties, either in the United States or in the United Kingdom.
With this in mind, we thought it would
be a good idea to balance the Trump article by publishing a list of our
favourite inspirational quotes by a previous President of the
USA, Barack Obama.
We have chosen our favourite quotes by
Obama that are not meant as political, but can be viewed in the wider context
of business, management, leadership, or just life in general.
"You can’t let your failures
define you. You have to let your failures teach you."
"We need to internalize this idea
of excellence. Not many folks spend a lot of time trying to be excellent."
"If you run you stand a chance of
losing, but if you don’t run you’ve already lost."
"If you're walking down the right
path and you're willing to keep walking, eventually you'll make progress."
"The cynics may be the loudest
voices - but I promise you, they will accomplish the least.”
"Focusing your life solely on
making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of
yourself. Because it's only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than
yourself that you realize your true potential."
"Nothing in life that's worth anything is easy."
"Change will not come if we wait
for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting
for. We are the change that we seek."
"Where we are met with cynicism
and doubts and those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that
timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people: Yes We Can."
"Where you are right now doesn’t
have to determine where you end up."
